Getting Here

The island is within easy reach of the mainland, and your holiday starts the moment you board the ferry. Choose from Portsmouth to pretty Fishbourne, Lymington Marina to Yarmouth pier, or the sailors’ route from Southampton to Cowes. All car ferry routes.

The house is about 25 minutes’ drive from the Fishbourne ferry and about 30 to 35 minutes from Yarmouth.

Location and Setting

Zalia Wight is in Bonchurch, a beautiful Victorian village that runs into Ventnor. This part of the island has a special micro-climate, with bright, warm days even in February and long, sun-filled days in summer.

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom house sits in its own terraced garden, which is essential to its charm. A secret flight of stone steps at the end of the garden leads to the beach, and the coastal walk to Ventnor starts right there.

The House

Floor-to-ceiling folding windows open the open-plan living area to the garden and sea views. There’s a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings, new central heating, an oak floor, Wi-Fi, Sky HD and smart TV

The dining table seats six. The kitchen has Moorish patterned floor tiles, a fridge-freezer with chilled water, an oven and hob, microwave,  dishwasher and a washing machine.

Bedrooms

• Main bedroom: super king bed with garden, village and sea views. A window daybed can be made up as a child’s cubby bed on request. There’s a private wet room with a bath.
• Second bedroom: twin beds that can be made up as a super king. The wet room is just across the corridor.

Beds are dressed in White Company linen, and bathrooms are stocked with refillable Bramley toiletries.

Outdoors

The deck is shaded by palms and has a large garden dining table, perfect for long lunches and evening drinks with the sea in view. The terraced garden is fully enclosed, so children and dogs can play safely.
